    Jeremiah Tibbetts … m. by 1655 Mary Canney, daughter of Thomas Canney (on 15 August 1655, "the grand jury do present Jan Canny the wife of Thomas Canny for a fame of beating his [sic] son-in-law Jerimy Tibbits and his wife, and likewise for striking her husband in a canoe and giving him reviling speeches" [NHPP 40:113; GDMNH 127; NHGR 19:7]).
