"On 17 April 1635, 'James Bate,' aged 53, husbandman, 'Alice Bate,' aged 52, 'Lyddia Bate,' aged 20, 'Marie Bate,' aged 17, 'Margaret Bate,' aged 12, and 'James Bates,' aged 9, were enrolled at London as passengers for New England on the Elizabeth [Hotten 68].[1]

"Marriage: Saltwood, Kent, 16 Sept 1603 Alice Glover (On 13 Sept 1603, a license was issued for the marriage of 'Jacobum Bate de Lyd, yeoman, and Aliciam Glover de Saltwood virg[in],' to be perfomed at Saltwood [Archdiocese of Canterbury Marriage Licenses Book 6, 1603-1607; NEHGR 51:270].) She was admitted to Dorchester church about 1638, along with her daughters Lydia and Mary [DChR 3]. She died at Dorchester on 14 Aug 1657 [DVR 25]."
