    MIGRATION: 1635 on the Elizabeth (on 9 April 1635, "James Hosmer," clothier, aged 28, with "wife & 2 children," "Ann Hosmer," aged 27, "Marie Hosmer," aged 2, and "Ann Hosmer," aged 3 months, and "maidservants Marie Donnard," aged 24, and "Marie Martin," aged 19, with a certificate of conformity "from the minister of Hauckust in Kent," were enrolled at London as passengers for New England on the Elizabeth [Hotten 53-54]).

    CHURCH MEMBERSHIP: Admission to Concord church prior to 17 May 1637 implied by freemanship.
    FREEMAN: 17 May 1637 (as "James Osmer") [MBCR 1:373].
    BIRTH: Baptized Hawkhurst, Kent, 8 December 1605, son of Stephen Hosmer and his wife Dorothy Selden [Hosmer Gen 6-9].

The record of freemanship for James Hosmer occurs in a part of the list for that date which is not structured, and we gain no information from this record with regard to the church into which he was admitted. Since no record of James Hosmer is found in Cambridge after 1636, we assume that he had moved to Concord by 1637, and that he was admitted to Concord church. There is some uncertainty, however, in this conclusion. - The Great Migration, III:422.
