1880 Census

By 1880, Jacob Sevin is a widower, age 67, living at 15 West 7th Street in Erie, Pennsylvania. He is a picture frame dealer. Both he and his parents were born in Bavaria. His daughter Lizzie, 32, is single, and a music teacher. She was also born in Bavaria, as were her parents. Jacob's son, Theodore C, 26, is single, and a "guilder" and picture frame maker. He was born in Pennsylvania. Jacob's son Henry, age 24, is also a gilder/picture frame maker. The final member of the household in 1880 is Este Rastatter, 22, a servant and single. She was born in Pennsylvania, as was her father; her mother was born in Bavaria. Jacob's daughter Caroline lives next door with her husband Jacob Eichhorn and their three children.
