Being a civil engineer by profession he went to Western New York in course of his employment and remained some years at Saratoga Springs. He afterward went to Petersburg, thence to Staunton, Va., where his wife d. He subsequently removed to Kingston, Tenn. ; he m. again but had no issue by 2nd wife.
