"Edmund Wright married Hannah Upson, not Axtell, as appears from a careful scrutiny of the records"
[An article by the same author, Vol. 53, p. 227, explains this more thoroughly: Thomas Axtell, himself bp. 1619, had in Berkhampstead Mary bp. 1639 and Henry bp. 1641. Then they moved to New England where the birth of another Mary is recorded in 1644 and the father d. 1646. Thus there is no apparent room for, or record of, a daughter Hannah who married in 1659. In an earlier volume, Vol. 22, p. 143, William S. Appleton, in an article titled "Notes on the Axtell Family", had asserted Hannah was the daughter of Thomas Axtell, "the first of this name in Massachusetts".]
