link Capt. EDWARD WRIGHT died, intestate, at Sudbury, on August 7, I703, at the age of about seventy. The inventory of his estate totaled almost £200 and his widow HANNAH and eldest son Samuel were appointed administrators on September 6, 1703, and gave a bond of £370. As administrator, Samuel filed reports on July I and September 9, 1704.

Widow HANNAH died May 18, 1708, and her children signed the following on June 15, 1708.

"whereas Capt. Edward1 Wright came to New England before 1638 with his mother, Dorothy (___) Wright. Whether or not his father came is unknown. We are of the opinion that Samuel Wright was also a son. Samuel married 3 May 1663 at Sudbury to Lydia Moore, daughter of John1 Moore and dyed that same year. There are no other male Wrights to fit this family but Dorothy may have had daughters. On 10 Mar 1642 Dorothy married at Sudbury John1 Blanford. The will of John Blanford, dated 21 Oct 1687 and proved 23 November 1687, bequests to wife Dorothy, son Stephen, daughter Maynard, son-in-law Jabez Browne of Stow, and Capt. Edward1 Wright, his second wife's son by a former marriage (Weis, 1958, p. 41). His daughter Maynard Was Sarah (Blandford) Keyes who married first Elias Keyes and second, John2 Maynard. Jabez Brown had married his daughter Hannah. Dorothy was given a house lot of six acres and at Sudbury 2, 4, 3 acres and as "widow Rite" 8 1.2 acres... she survived John Blanford by 16 years dying in Marlboro as "old widdow Dorithie Blanford died March 1, 1703" (317). Edward was arwarded 100 lbs and John Blanford 10 during the attack of Sudbury Feb 1 1675/6. Edward fought under Maj. Simon Willard as a Lieut in 1768. He obtained the rank of Captain possibly during the expedition to Quebec. His son Samuel was giving a land grand in 1741 for this father's service (he is erroneously listed as Thomas in VR. Not Thomas existed).

Edward Wright was born about 1635 and died 7 August 1703 at Sudbury, Massachusetts. He married there on 18 June 1659 Hannah Upson, born about 1638 and died 18 May 1708 at Sudbury, daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Upson. This Edward Wright is conflated with the Edward Wright of Boston. Pope combined the two men in his work. Edward and Hannah had nine children: Hannah, Dorothy, Sarah, Mary, Elizabeth, Samuel, Abigail, Edward, and Martha.
