This family de Vries, one of the hundreds of non-related de Vries-families, was for over 300 years based in Oudwoude/Westergeest, Kollumerland, Friesland, Netherlands. Originally anabaptist, later members of the official Dutch-Reformed church. Quite a few other families do have the same origin like de Hoog and Komrij and more.
