YDNA Maxwell Group Data as of Feb 2012

FTDNA

The FTDNA based Maxwell Project, currently (February 2012) includes 145 YDNA kits, organized into 15 groups, plus a large group of 31 "unmatched" kits. An examination of the YDNA data for these kits, based on the use of similarity coefficients, suggests that some of the identified groups cannot be clearly differentiated from each other. The following data has been extracted from the maxwell YDNA project website, and regrouped to some extent based on the similarity analysis, and organized by Haplogroup. Kits with a similarity of 13.0% or less are grouped together. A 13% similarity would be the equivalent for two kits differing from each other by 9 out of 67 markers. Some kits, particularly those that tested for 12 or 25 markers, may not separate out cleanly, but show similarities with more than one group.
