Broaden suggestion or new suggestion? [20 November 2021]

While we're talking about improving the place dropdown search, I have another suggestion. It could either be rolled into this suggestion, or I could make a new page?

I think that the dropdown should find exact matches first, so, if you start by typing "Texas," the first results should start with "Texas," instead of "Austin, Texas, United States" or whatever the first alphabetical result is.--Jdfoote1 09:54, 10 November 2012 (EST)

Place pages should not include cemeteries as places [20 November 2021]

On the main page User:Jrich and User:fbax.ca noted that the thinking about cemeteries as or not as place pages had already been resolved. I created a place page for a cemetery about a week ago, not knowing that this is now not to be done. Could someone point me at the supporting documentation on what we should do for cemeteries as places? Thanks. --ceyockey 20:59, 20 November 2021 (UTC)

It IS allowed. The discussion was had, and the powers that were in charge decided to allow cemeteries as place pages. Help page: [1]. Don't know where the original discussion is. As my comment indicated, I disagreed for various reasons, and still do, but it is allowed. --Jrich 21:38, 20 November 2021 (UTC)
