Strategic plan [4 December 2012]

Do we have anything that you might call a strategic plan for WeRelate? Where do we want to be in, say, two years' time? What are our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats?

The closest thing to a strategic plan is more tactical: open-source the code-base so that others can help contribute. Lately I've been working full-time on a consulting contract and haven't had as much time to work on WeRelate as I would like. I'm hoping that by open-sourcing the code, others will be able to contribute. One of the challenges of course is that the suggestions that feed the roadmap are contributed by experienced users, so we run a pretty big risk of not addressing beginner needs (e.g., shorter learning curve). That's a weakness; not sure how to address it.--Dallan 10:01, 7 December 2012 (EST)
