WeRelate:Suggestions/Facets: Birth Century to use christening date

The Birth Century facet (browse link) should use the christening date if there is no birth date. This does several things:

  • It provides more accurate statistics, especially around Data Quality.
  • It helps those of us looking for pages we can improve to find missing birth/christening dates.
  • It allows us to enter pages with christening date as proxy for birth date when only the christening date is known (when parish registers served as registration of births), without being tempted to add an "about" birth date just to get the birth century calculated.

Data - I understand what you are asking for, but what do you mean by "facet", as in "Birth Century Facet"? I haven't heard this phrase here before. Thanks, --cos1776 19:40, 3 July 2016 (UTC)
Facets are the links that show up on the left-hand under the term Browse. It is a technical term that I think was being used when they were first introduced, but I guess is not obvious any more.--DataAnalyst 22:48, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
