Leonard Brown and Sarah Kimbrough (1) & (2) [31 December 2008]

Hello Cousin,

Happy New Year 2009!! I hope 2008 treated you well. And hope that 2009 will do the same.

It seems we share the same ancestor. Would you like to merge these two pages together?

If so please do.

Thanks, Debbie Freeman--DFree 13:49, 31 December 2008 (EST)

Oconostota [27 February 2009]

Hi Seymour t

I notice you have a card for Oconostota in person name space. Previously I also created a card for this person but did so in "article" space. I plan on deleting the article space card in favor of yours, but would like to provide some additional informtion and include it in the Southwest Virginia Project. That basically means linking to your card from the appropriate spot in the SWVP, and inserting the SWVP logo on the top of the page. If you'd prefer, I'll leave you card intact, and go a different route. Q 18:44, 27 February 2009 (EST)

Updates - Thank You [16 March 2009]

Amatoya Moytoy and Quatsy Of Tellico [17 March 2009]

Why did you remove the relationship data for Amatoya Moytoy and Quatsy Of Tellico on their family page? Was it erroneous?--BobC 07:59, 16 March 2009 (EDT)

If you look at the details on the "Diff" view, it looks like Seymour T deleted his tree. Affected a number of pages I'm watching as well. -- jillaine 09:26, 17 March 2009 (EDT)

Oops. I mean, if you a) look at the "Diff" view, then click on one of the red links resulting from the edit, then "View deleted pages" you'll see that it looks like he deleted his tree. -- jillaine 09:29, 17 March 2009 (EDT)
So, as curious as I am to specifically what happened, regardless of who or what, how do we fix it? -- BobC 11:57, 17 March 2009 (EDT)
I am also curious here. Am I hearing correctly that if you decide to delete "your tree", everything that's associated with it goes, even if others have linked to it, either in the merge process or in some other context? Q 12:42, 17 March 2009 (EDT)
My understanding is that pages that are WATCHED by others will *not* be deleted when someone deletes their tree. But chances are, none of us were watching the pages that were deleted-- we were watching pages (as in child pages) the parents of which were deleted. At least in my case when that happened, I had the child in my own (watched) tree, but not the parents. In some case it was the spouse-- i.e., I had one spouse in my tree but not the other. My understanding from reading other pages on werelate is that this is not something broken to be fixed; it's working as it was designed to work. The watercooler, i believe, is scattered with discussions about this issue. Now it's POSSIBLE that Seymour will upload an updated tree, hopefully with the new merge feature and things will "come back". But we have no way of knowing that until Seymour speaks for himself here. -- jillaine 13:01, 17 March 2009 (EDT)
As excellent as this site may be, there seem to be a number of reasons for keeping it in Beta. This being one of them. What you are saying is that you can't rely on anything remaining permanent unless you edit it or manually set it to your watch list. And even then, if you miss a notification that a page has changed, don't visit it, then its not on your watch list anymore, a can turn into pixie dust without warning. That is a very bad problem because it speaks to reliability issues. Q 18:08, 17 March 2009 (EDT)
