• view related pages not in your tree -- If you matched families in your GEDCOM to existing families, find out which people you are now related to that you can add to your tree (takes awhile to display for large trees).
• view a searchable list of the pages in your tree -- The searchable list will be available about an hour after your tree has been imported.

Citation Needed Template

Hi Projectmc

I noticed that someone had reverted your change to the {{Template:Citation needed}}. I don't see a comment from them here, so perhaps they emailed you an explanation. Just in case, I thought I'd add my 2 cents.

I suspect you were simply trying to insert the appropriate citation somewhere, and thought this might do the trick. Templates are one of the trickier things in wiki's such as WeRelate, and its easy to misunderstand their function. In this case, you succeeded in inserting your reference on your target page---and immediately inserted the same reference on literally hundreds of thousands (really!) of other pages that have previously made use of the same template. The reason your change affected so many other pages is because the system automatically inserts this template where-ever a citation is missing from the vita data fields. Since many data fields lack citations, it gets put into a lot of pages---hence your change had effects far beyond your intent. If I can help you with this, let me know. Gedcom restrictions [1 March 2012]

Hello, noticed your question on my talk page. There are restrictions in adding persons before 1700, they have to be added manually. It is also a good idea to only add families that have been well-researched (since many gedcoms may contain errors).

This information is contained in the gedcom loading instructions.
