kkgedcom.ged.txt Ready for Review [20 July 2009]

Welcome to WeRelate! WeRelate is different from most family tree websites. By contributing to WeRelate you are helping to create Pando for genealogy, a free, unified family tree that combines the best information from all contributors.

Now that you have uploaded your GEDCOM, your next step is to preview what your pages will look like and combine (merge) people in your GEDCOM with matching people already on WeRelate. When you have finished your review, your GEDCOM will be imported. Click here to review your GEDCOM.

Gedcom kkgedcom.ged.txt Warnings

Welcome to WeRelate and thank you for contributing a gedcom file. I noticed while reviewing it that there are a number of warning about burial dates. It appears that the people all have the same burial year (1938) but widely varying death dates.
If this is not what you intended, you can fix it right in the review by clicking on the warning. The provisional Person page will be visible in the bottom on the screen. By select Edit, you can change whatever you like. You might also consider breaking up the text a bit to make it easier to read.
If you feel the burial dates are correct, please consider entering an explanation for your fellow researchers.
I am returning your file to review status so you can make whatever changes you like. When you are done, go to the Import tab and click Ready for Import like you did before. If you have questions or problems, you can leave a message here or at one of the addresses noted in the welcome message above. Thanks.--Judy (jlanoux) 18:27, 20 July 2009 (EDT)

Source page titles [23 July 2009]

Hello, I am a volunteer admin. here at WeRelate. I noticed that you created 2 new source pages that will need to be renamed to following our naming conventions.

Based upon your knowledge of these sources, can you help me determine page titles that would follow the above format? Thank you!--Jennifer (JBS66) 06:40, 23 July 2009 (EDT)

ScotlandsPeople is an on-line database of images of local records. In this case, the documents are the actual city records of births and marriages. Based on your guidance, it seems that the title should be:

Scotland.Edinburgh.SaintGiles.Statutory Births Scotland.Edinburgh.Newington.Statutory Marriages

What this does not capture is the mechanism by which I found these records, i.e. ScotlandsPeople. Is that OK? Can I annotate the reference to indicate that this is one way of accessin these records?--Pbrown12303 11:11, 23 July 2009 (EDT)
