Sources, etc. [8 September 2013]

Hello and welcome. I'm one of the admins on source and person page patrol, and you may have just gotten a slew of emails from me deleting source pages you had created and changing citations. You might want to review Portal:Source for information about what citations get Source pages (bulletin boards don't), how to title Source pages (generally author last/first. title or place. title), and how to identify if sources already exist. Nearly all FamilySearch collections, for example, already have source pages, and these should be directly linked to rather than using the generic FamilySearch source (and this is the reason I deleted several of the FamilySearch pages you created). There's one page I couldn't fix without more info -- Source:History of the Stiles Family in America -- so if you could take a look, that would be helpful.

Thank you for adding sources--many people don't bother--and don't worry about getting things perfect, that's why the admin jobs exist! There's a learning curve here, but lots of people happy to help, just let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!--Amelia 01:19, 8 September 2013 (EDT)

Really don't worry about it! We appreciate anyone adding sources. Re the HIstory of the Stiles Family in America book, I can't find a book by that title on openlibrary. There are two Stiles Family in America books, though.--Amelia 21:24, 8 September 2013 (EDT)
