Next step: Review your GEDCOM [31 August 2010]

You're not done yet!

WeRelate is different from most family tree websites. By contributing to WeRelate you are helping to create Pando for genealogy, a free, unified family tree that combines the best information from all contributors.

Now that you have uploaded john giddens will.ged, your next step is to review what your pages will look like, review any potential warnings, and combine (merge) people in your GEDCOM with matching people already on WeRelate. You need to review your GEDCOM before it can finish importing.

Note: if your gedcom contains many errors or multiple families, we’d ask that you resolve and correct the errors, delete this gedcom and re-submit it without the errors before merging it with families already on WeRelate. If the gedcom is very large, we’d suggest breaking it up into separate files and importing them one at a time, which makes the review and correction process easier.

Click here to review your GEDCOM

Once you have finished your review and marked your GEDCOM Ready to import, one of our administrators will review your GEDCOM and finalize the import. This usually happens within 24 hours. You will receive a message here when the pages have been created.

Jacques Bergeron and Judith Peletan [11 December 2011]

Hi,

I have been looking for information on the children of Jacques & Judith. I have 7 children that I am aware of and would like to compare notes. I noticed that I have Jacques listed as being from Thorigney, Poitou, France which is different than your information. I also found the christening information for all 7 children listing the godparents, very curious about that and how they are related.

Thanks,

Jacques Bergeron [17 March 2012]

I'd like to add some information to what you have on Jacques & Judith.

Pierre was the oldest child I am aware of born Sept. 25 1707 in Bristol, christening in the same church as daughter Judeth. This is in the Bristol parish registers published in The Publications of the Huguenot Society of London, Vol 19/20 I believe.

I believe that Jacques died at the end of 1727 and the June 1728 date refers to the will probate. I have to check the dates on that.

I have been looking for any kind of birth record for Jacques as his parents are unknown to me. Do you have a record for the Torigny, Manche, Basse-Normandie, France?

Per History of the Huguenot Emigration to America Vol. 2 he was from Thorigne, Poitou, France. However, since I have not been able to find any records I am wondering if he was actually born somewhere else and left France from that location. There is also a Torigny in Poitou, but I believe that the correct town is about 12 miles SW of Niort. It seems there are several towns in France with very similar names.

I am assuming you follow this line thru Margret or Margueritte? It would be great to share information.
