Now that you have uploaded Campbell_Clan.ged, your next step is to review what your pages will look like, review any potential warnings, and combine (merge) people in your GEDCOM with matching people already on WeRelate. You need to review your GEDCOM before it can finish importing.

Note: if your gedcom contains many errors or multiple families, we’d ask that you resolve and correct the errors, delete this gedcom and re-submit it without the errors before merging it with families already on WeRelate. If the gedcom is very large, we’d suggest breaking it up into separate files (or families) and importing them one at a time, which makes the review and correction process easier.

• view your network -- If you matched families in your GEDCOM to existing families, find out to which other WeRelate users you are related.
• view related pages not in your tree -- If you matched families in your GEDCOM to existing families, find out which people you are now related to that you can add to your tree (takes awhile to display for large trees).
• view a searchable list of the pages in your tree -- The searchable list will be available about an hour after your tree has been imported.

Campbell_Clan.ged appears to overlap a previously-imported GEDCOM [23 October 2010]

The pages from this GEDCOM have not yet been generated because they appear to match pages from a GEDCOM you have previously imported to WeRelate.

If you have already imported a GEDCOM containing people in this GEDCOM and you want to replace that tree with this GEDCOM, you need to delete that tree first so duplicates aren't created when you import this GEDCOM. Click on Trees in the "My Relate" menu, then click on the "delete" link next to that tree. Please be aware that any pages in the tree that are being watched by others won't get deleted. Once that tree is deleted you can create a new tree and re-upload this GEDCOM into it. (We're planning to make re-uploading GEDCOM files much simpler soon.)

If you don't think you have already imported a GEDCOM containing people in this GEDCOM, or if the two GEDCOM's don't overlap that much, leave a message for Dallan or send an email to dallan@WeRelate.org and we'll go ahead with the import.

Peter Stoner [2 January 2011]

Hello, I noticed that you attached your Peter Stoner to John Stoner and Catherine (one of the families I'm watching), in your recent Gedcom upload. The family you attached Peter to was a different John Stoner and Catherine, located in Pennsylvania and both were at least a generation earlier than your John Stoner and Catherine, in Ontario (now Canada).

In the future, please be careful only to merge families on your Gedcoms with families that you are SURE are the same families! If you have any doubts that they are the same family, it is best not to merge them with your Gedcom and then go back, research them and add documentation to make sure that they are the same.

I've fixed and added additional dates to both sets of John Stoner and Catherine's (information on your John Stoner and Catherine came from a Familysearch submission which might require some additional research and verification) to ensure they are easily differentiated.
