Error importing smalling.ged [5 April 2012]

We had an error while attempting to import your GEDCOM. This is most likely our fault. We will review the error and should have your pages ready tomorrow (or Monday if tomorrow falls on a weekend). There is no need to re-import your GEDCOM file.

smalling.ged Imported Successfully [6 April 2012]

The pages from your GEDCOM have been generated successfully. You may now:

• launch the Family Tree Explorer to navigate your tree
• view your network -- If you matched families in your GEDCOM to existing families, find out to which other WeRelate users you are related.
• view related pages not in your tree -- If you matched families in your GEDCOM to existing families, find out which people you are now related to that you can add to your tree (takes awhile to display for large trees).
• view a searchable list of the pages in your tree -- The searchable list will be available about an hour after your tree has been imported.

Tobias Reisner - Corrections [19 March 2018]

To Whom it May Concern: You have a number of errors in your Reisner history.

1. Tobias never went to SC. He stayed in Frederick County, MD his whole life. 2. y-DNA studies have been done. They prove that the KY and Carolina Risners are related to 99.9% accuracy. As suspected, Risners fall into the G2 genotype i.e. German ancestry. There is no evidence of Jewish or American Indian in the y-DNA. Results can be viewed on familytreeDNA.com under "Risner" search. Any Risner ancestry tracing to a "Q" line is not direct lineage and suggests mistaken paternity ie a break in the line of ancestry. Our German ancestry is dark hair and complexion. 3. Tobias' BD is 15 Nov 1715. He died on 11 Apr 1803 in Frederick County, MD. 4. Regarding the father of the SC Risners, that is still up to debate and there is no consensus. Some think it to be Tobias, others a Michael and some Hans Michael (not the same Michael as the other). HM Reisner records disappear after he got out of debtor's prison in 1762. There are no records tracing him directly to the SC Carolina Risners but admittedly, records are sparse and incomplete.

Not to be critical, just don't like incorrect information "put out there". Many people accept what they read carte blanche and this tends to travel through lines of genealogy and family trees as few do their own research, they just copy what they see without question.
