    LING, BENJAMIN, Charlestown 1636, went to New Haven, prob. with
Gov. Eaton, had his est. laid out 1640, was a freem. with prefix of
respect, liv. in what is now East Haven, d. 27 Apr. 1673, leav. no ch.
but giv. good prop. to some friends, and large to w. Joanna, wh. m. 3
Nov. foll. col. John Dixwell, the regicide, and d. in a few wks.

    LINNELL or LYNNELL, oft. print. LINNETT or LYNNETT, DAVID,
Barnstable, perhaps s. of Robert, b. in Eng. m. 9 Mar. 1653, Hannah
Shelley or Shilley, had Samuel, b. 15 Dec. 1655; Elisha, 1 June 1658;
and Hannah, 15 Dec. 1660, wh. m. 3 Aug. 1681, the sec. Dolor Davis;
beside Jonathan. JOHN, Barnstable, wh. was s. possib. of the preced. or
of Jonathan, of wh. we kn. from Hamblen only that he was a sett. of B.
bef. 1700, and may have been a br. of David, or of John, m. Ruth
David, had Thankful, b. 12 Nov. 1696, bapt. 17 Sept. 1699; Samuel, b.
16 Nov. 1699; John, 15 June 1702; Bethia, 14 May 1704; Joseph, 12
June 1707; Hannah, 10 July 1709; and Jabez, 30 July 1711. JONATHAN,
Eastham, s. perhaps youngest, of David, by w. Elizabeth had David,
b. 28 Jan. 1694; Elizabeth 17 Apr. 1696, a. at 18 yrs.; Abigail, 1 July
1699; Jonathan, 4 Aug. 1701; Thomas, 12 Oct. 1703; Elisha, 15 Feb.
1707; and d. 27 July 1725. ROBERT, Scituate, with his w. under let.
of dism. from ch. in London, join. this 16 Sept. 1638, rem. to Barnstable
next yr. had Bethia, bapt. 7 Feb. 1641; left wid. and sev. ch. and prob.
gr.ch. The wid. in 1669, says Deane, complain. that part of the prop.
giv. her by her h. was kept back by his s. Robert, so we may, I think,
infer, that she was not the mo. His d. Hannah, m. 15 Mar. 1649, John
Davis, Mary m. 15 Oct. 1649, Richard Child; and Abigail m. 27 May
1651, Joshua Lombard. Of Experience, wh. m. 20 Aug. 1689, Jabez
Davis, we may conject. that she was his cous. THOMAS, Hampton 1643.
Deane made the last let. of this name t.

    LINSLEY, JOHN, Guilford 1650, or earlier, rem. long bef. 1667 to
Branford, when John jr. was there. Other ch. were Mary and Hannah.
The s. had s. John, wh. took admin. of est. of gr.f. 23 July 1698, while
that of the f's. est. was 9 May 1684, so that I inf. the first John long outliv.
his s.

    LINTON, RICHARD, prob. at Gov. Cradock's planta. Medford 1630,
and Watertown 1638, one of the first sett. of Lancaster, 1643, d. 30
Mar. 1665. His est. was small, and very little is kn. of him but that
his d. Ann m. Lawrence Waters of Lancaster.

    LIPPET or LIPPIT, JOHN, early a townsman of Providence, and aft.
freem. at Warwick 1655, had, perhaps, Nathaniel, certain. John, Moses,
and Joseph, prob. Rebecca, wh. m. 2 Feb. 1665, Joseph Howard, and
next, 19 Mar. 1669, Francis Budlong; yet Joseph and Nathaniel a.
