and Ruth, 11 Mar. 1705, d. soon. SETH, Dartmouth 1686. THOMAS,
Plymouth 1631, m. 28 July 1637, Ann, d. of Gabriel Fallowell, had
Hannah, wh. m. Joseph Bartlett, and d. 12 Mar. 1710, aged 71. When
this w. d. is not told, but he m. sec. w. 29 May 1646, Sarah, d. of John
Jenney, had Seth, b. 13 Jan. 1648; Thomas, 25 Mar. 1651; John, 15
Mar. 1653; and Susanna, wh. m. 7 Nov. 1666, Jacob Mitchell, and
being call. in 1663 eldest d. of said P. by w. Sarah requires us to believe
that ano. d. foll. In 1675, he was 67 yrs. old. THOMAS, Dorchester,
perhaps br. of John of the same, had Thomas, b. 26 Dec. 1670; and
Alice, 23 Dec. 1676; as says Geneal. Reg. 465, where it adds that
he m. 18 Nov. 1681, Margaret Long. THOMAS, Suffield, by w. Margaret,
had Mindwell, b. 1687; and his w. d. next yr. at Springfield.
One of these two Thomases prob. tho. wh. of them may be hard to
guess, was of Hempstead on L. I. WALTER, Charlestown 1634, d. bef.
1640, leav. one ch. to wh. the town made a gr. Frothingham, 80.
WALTER, Charlestown, had Mary, wh. m. Joseph Miller. Five of this
name at Harv. three at Yale, and two at other N. E. coll. had been gr.
1834.

    PORTAGE, GEORGE, Boston, merch. by w. Elizabeth d. of Simon Lynde,
had Judith, b. 26 Feb. 1685, d. young; Hannah, 13 Feb. 1687.; Samuel,
15 Apr. 1689; Judith, again, 16 Sept 1691; Elizabeth 16 May 1696,
d. next yr. and George, wh. d. without ch. I think he rem. from Boston,
prob. from the Prov. Hannah m. 16 Sept. 1714, James Bowdoin
of Boston, was mo. of James, H. C. 1745, the disting. Presid. of the
Convent. 1780, that framed our Mass. Const. first Presid. of A. A. S.
and sec. Gov. of the Commonwealth.

    PORTER, ABEL, Boston, was m. when adm. of the ch. 23 Jan.
by w. Ann, wh. had been wid. of William Simmons, had John,
bapt. 19 Nov. a. 7 days old, but by the rec. of town, b. 27 Nov. 1643;
prob. also, Abel, and perhaps others. He may have been adm. freem.
2 June 1641, and the name writ. Parr, d. 10 Mar. 1685, aged 73, says
the gr.-st. ABEL, Boston, perhaps s. of the preced. freem. 1672, then
call. junr. was one of a new milit. comp. Sept. 1677. BENJAMIN,
Farmington, youngest s. of Robert, d. young, without ch. and his wid.
m. June 1689, Edmund Scott, and bore him eight ch. BENJAMIN, Salem,
s. of John of the same. d. 1701. But he had been murder. nine yrs.
bef. as a witness sw. 31 May 1692, was confess. to her by a witch.
DANIEL, Farmington, a surgeon, for sev. yrs. had pay from the Col. by
w. Mary had Daniel, b. 2 Feb. 1653; Mary, 5 Feb. 1655; Nehemiah,
24 Oct. 1656; Richard, 24 Mar. 1658; Ann, 1661; John, 14 Nov.
1662; and Samuel, 24 Oct. 1665; all exc. Mary, in 1688, provid. for
by deed in Aug. of that yr. to avoid making a will under Andro's
