wid. Mary, and twelve ch. b. 1676-1696, of wh. no particul. are designat.
BENJAMIN, Farmington, had Benjamin, and John, there bapt. 1 Dec.
1689. ROWLAND, Boston, bef. 1660, sold his est. to Daniel Stone.

    BEWETT, BUET or BUITT, GEORGE, Sandwich 1643. HUGH, banish.
from Mass. for heresy, 1640, under pain of d. and to be hanged, if he
come back. See Col. Rec. I. 312, and Winthrop II. 19. This was in Dec.
and he went forthwith to Providence, where he fill. many yrs. offices of
import. by frequent elections. Staples in his Ann. of P. is the evidence
of all his good desert; but the name disappears with him, and no w. or
ch. is told of. See Arnold's Hist. of R. 1. Vol. 1.

    BEXTER, GREGORY, is the false official copy, print. in Geneal. Reg.
V. 334, and truly means Baxter. I wish no worse perversions perplex.

    BICKNELL, JOHN, Wymouth, by w. Mary had Naomi, b. 21 June
1637; Ruth, 26 Oct. 1660; Joanna, 2 Mar. 1663; Experience, 20 Oct.
1665; Zachary, 7 Feb. 1668; Thomas, 27 Aug. 1670; Elizabeth 29 Apr.
1673; and Mary, 15 Mar. 1678; beside one, 10 Apr. 1682, whose name
appears not on the rec. was rep. 1677. JOHN, Weymouth, perhaps s. of
the preced. by w. Sarah had John, b. 24 Nov. 1688; Zechariah, 28 Oct.
1691; Benjamin, 8 June 1694; Joseph, 28 Feb. 1699; and prob. other
ch. RICHARD, Pemaquid, freem. 1674, but in the list he is call. Bucknell.
ZACHARY, Weymouth, prob. br. of the first John, unless it be
likely that he was f. and d. bef. Mar. 1637, when William Read bot. his
ho. ZECHARIAH, Weymouth, s. of John the first, by w. Hannah had
Zechariah, b. 9 Jan. 1695.

    BICKNOR or BICKNER, JOHN, Charlestown, perhaps s. of William, d.
4 Jan. 1679, aged a. 30 yrs. JOSEPH, Charlestown, s. of Thomas, serv.
in Capt. William Turner's comp. in Philip's war. SAMUEL, Charlestown
1678, perhaps br. of the preced. He m. 2 Dec. 1669, Hannah Bell.
THOMAS, Charlestown, perhaps br. of William, had Joseph, b. 8 Dec.
1655. WILLIAM, Charlestown 1658, d. 16 Aug. 1659, leav. wid. Martha,
by wh. he had Benjamin, b. 14 Sept. 1656; and Martha, 28 Dec. 1658. Elder
ch. were Samuel, aged 13; John, 11; Sarah, 10; ano. d. 8.Often this name is
seen Bicknell, or Bignall, or even, I think, Buckner.
