Great page [18 June 2008]

Hi Lauren,

Great start. Check out the talk page on the main page of Coleman Family Exchange. The tutorial is not off the ground yet; waiting on son to explain the Div if he can.--Beth 14:52, 18 June 2008 (EDT)

Unsourced entries [24 June 2008]

Hi Lauren, What do you intend to do with unsourced entries? I am considering placing them under Miscellaneous with the heading of unsourced. --Beth 11:04, 24 June 2008 (EDT)

I'm sure there won't be any! LOL. Wouldn't that be nice. I'm hoping that the "Index" section will be a sort of "holding field" for names that have been found in an index, but still the actual source needs to be checked. I suppose the easiest solution for unsourced transcriptions and extracts is to add a line saying Source Unknown or Source Unknown, information provided by __________. And a simple contact suggesting that the source be added if known. Some items are hard to source well, like the handwritten copy of the 1792 unprobated will that my great-uncle found in *his* great-uncle's effects in the 1930's.

My goal this week is to recruit some other Rumgay researchers to check out the Family Exchange. I'm sure more people participating will highlight more problems that need to be considered. --Lauren 11:39, 24 June 2008 (EDT)

Well, I had bunch of Coleman's subscribe as new users, but not many contributions. I still think that people are intimidated by this site. Had 2 unsourced items entered. Left a message for one on the talk page but no response. Guess I will try and email them. Well, I am really big on sources so I will still probably dump my stuff somewhere. You still have the source for the will; it is your copy. --Beth 11:54, 24 June 2008 (EDT)
