Usage Tips

This is an index to birth, baptism and christening records from the state of Ohio. Microfilm copies of these records are available at the Family History Library and Family History Centers. The index is stored in an electronic database which may be searched on the free FamilySearch site. Due to privacy laws, recent records may not be displayed. The year range represents most of the records. A few records may be earlier or later.

Although you can use this WeRelate source for citing the records found, it is suggested that for the purposes of citation on WeRelate pages, you should use the original source referenced in the index (which can be identified in the Family Search Catalog). However, proper citation for genealogical purposes requires that you still reference this source in some fashion if you do not view the original source and only use the information provided in the database. The template {{FS Ohio Births}} has been created to provide a simple means of doing this.
