Usage Tips

Records of recent deaths are held at the Ohio Department of Health, Office of Vital Statistics. The records older than fifty years may be sent to the State Archives. They provide a free online index.

Microfilms of the death certificates held by the Archives are available from the FamilySearch website. They may be accessed through the nearest Family History Center.
