This Ordnance Survey map of 1900 from A Vision of Britain through Time locates all the original rural districts established in Wiltshire in 1894. In 1934 there were a number of mergers of neighbouring districts. Mere Rural District was in the southwestern corner of the Wiltshire bordering the counties of Dorset and Somerset. Tisbury Rural District was to the southeast and Marlborough Rural District was to the north. Mere Rural District existed from 1894 until 1934 when it became part of the Mere and Tisbury Rural District. [edit] List of Parishes
