"Duplicate" Parents [3 February 2020]

Hi, Mike,

It looks to me like William rather than Robert is the most likely parent for John, but I don't have access to the Lanman Genealogy, so don't know what kind of evidence it provides. I'd like to get the "Duplicate Parents" off the computer generated Duplicates list, and would be willing to delete Robert if you don't object. Otherwise, if you think there should be more research before deleting one of the parents, they should both probably be changed to speculative parents. I can do that if you want, and it would also get them off the Duplicates list.

Thanks, Gayel --GayelKnott 05:25, 3 February 2020 (UTC)

Sure,go ahead and do that. We can always make further changes later, if and when we find some good answers. The Lanmans are one of the more confusing corners of my family and some of us have been scratching our heads about some of those folks for years. And the couple of books that have been produced have, unfortunately, not really been up to a professional standard. And I don't have ready access to the Lanman Genealogy since I retired and moved away from the Dallas library.

The McKims are several side-steps off my own main line, but I've been trying to get them posted (as well as a number of other associated families) in order, frankly, to promote DNA hits. --MikeTalk 14:47, 3 February 2020 (UTC)

Thanks. I don't know about the Lanmans, but the McKims look like they would be a major project to research. Have way too many of those myself. Gayel --GayelKnott 16:32, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
