- Yoel Bucharestianu was a banker or what was then referred to as a money-changer. Yoel Bucharestianu also owned eight or nine vineyards to make wine and whiskey and something called "TUICA", made from prunes which tastes like vodka, but is strong. They were located in Racaciuni. He also had a general dry goods store. He sold shoes called "Opinco" (opence) which were made out of leather for the peasants. He also owned Sheep and had a tanning business. After Joel died, members of the family moved to Bacau and lived on "Strada Mare", known as the "Big Street". (Probably would translate as Ocean Street)
