    (Rick)

On December 7, 2008 this loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, with the help of our heavenly Father, joined his eldest son, Rod, his parents Alexander Leroy and Adeline, his brothers Byron (Bud), Seldon, Vernon and sister Cecelia.

Born during a blizzard at the Vandalia, Montana family homestead on February l2, 1923. Known as Worrell to his family and friends, he was a talented trumpet player in his youth, winning a state championship while living in North Dakota. After high school he and friends formed a dance band and entertained at local dances.

During WW2 he migrated to the Seattle area where he joined the Coast Guard Reserves, stationed in Seattle patrolling the waterfront. After the war he married and from that union three children were born. He started working for the Boeing Company in the late 40's. In l957 he remarried, left Boeing and returned to Montana where he bought and operated an Ice Cream Café until late l96l. The family returned to the Seattle area where he rejoined the Boeing Co., purchased acreage and planned to build a house in Maple Valley. Six weeks later plans were put on hold and the family was on the move to Montana where Worrell joined the Minuteman Missile Program. The family had increased by two little girls and the next five years took the family to Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska and back to Montana and North Dakota. Finally back to the Northwest the long awaited dream of a home was to be realized in June l968, their present home.

He continued working at Boeing until retirement in l985 as a line Supervisor with 34 years company time. His retirement opened a new life style, raising cattle and operating Double R Lawnmower, a small engine repair. He made yearly trips to Montana for his high school reunions and visiting relatives.
