- ↑ In a little homestead house on the prairie, in Northeastern Montana, Leola Letitia Richter, born December 30, 1915, was the fourth of six children born to her parents, Alexander LeRoy (Roy) and Adeline (McLeod) Richter. Adeline was a wonderful Christian lady whose deep abiding faith had a significant impact on her entire family, carrying them through some very difficult trials.
The family lived near Vandalia, Montana, during extremely hard times, finally moving to Hindsale, Montana, where Leola graduated from Hindsale High School with the class of 1934.
On July 2, 1934 Leola and Thomas Harry Hentz were married, 4 years to the day that Leola's sister, Cecelia, had married Tom's brother, August John Hentz.
Leola worked for the Hinsdale newspaper, and a hardware store for a short time. During those years Leola loved playing the piano and organ and singing the old favorite hymns at special events.
A few years after the birth of Tom and Leola's 2 daughters, Dolly Lenore and Bonny Jean, Leola attended Beauty School in Great Falls where she met her lifelong best friend Jean Korum.
The rest of the family remained in Fort Peck, Montana, where father Tom worked on construction of the Fort Peck Dam. The family moved to Great Falls, where Leola had her first beauty shop.
Near the start of World War II Tom found work at Boeing in Seattle, and later moved the family there. Leola worked at several different jobs while in Seattle: for Northwest Airlines, managing the night flight kitchen when SeaTac was just being developed, she purchased and ran the beauty shop at Madison Park, in Seattle, then was an assistant teacher for Rich Whitman School.
Prior to the Madison Park Beauty Shop years Tom and Leola were divorced. Several years later she married Duane E. Robinson, a career US Navy sailor. The marriage lasting until his death in November 2000. Leola and Duane lived at Madison Park, in Seattle, California, Hawaii for a couple of years, Auburn, then in a home Duane helped build at Bonney Lake, then Lynnwood, and their final home, built by Duane, on Pleasant Ridge in Mount Vernon. Several years after Duane's death Leola fell and broke her hip, forcing her to move from her home to Country Meadow Village in Sedro-Woolley, close to her daughter Dolly and family. During the last days of her life Leola had excellent 24 hour a day care, provided by Patricia and Kimberly of Caregivers Network with excellent medical care by Skagit Hospice.

Leola was a life long member of The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, now known as the Community of Christ.
Leola (Richter) Robinson died August 19, 2011, at the age of 95.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Adeline Richter; her 5 siblings, Cecelia, Seldon, Byron, Vernon, and Worrell Richter. Remaining are her 2 daughters and their families, Dolly (Hentz) Tompkins, husband Raymond, and children, son Tom and wife Robin, and family, daughter, Raylynn Pavelich and husband Duane and family, daughter Renee' Kitchener and husband Ron and their family, and son David and wife Barbara; Leola's second daughter, Bonny (Hentz) Peterson and husband David, Lynnwood, WA and their children, Rachel, Wendy Rancourt and husband Wayne and their sons, Elizabeth Peterson and family, Kris Barber and husband Paul and their family, and son Steve. Plus, many great and great, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and two sisters-in-law, Emma Richter of Maple Valley and Helen Richter of Big Sandy, Montana.
Leola's love, and her warm hospitality provided rich memories for us all.
A graveside service will be at Hawthorne Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
