WILMOT E. HUMPHREY Obituary in WENATCHEE WORLD at Wenatchee, WA on 21 Nov 1994 WILMOT E. HUMPHREY BREWSTER - Wilmot E. Humphrey, 83, a 27-year resident of Brewster, died Friday, Nov. 11, 1994, near Winthrop. He was born Dec. 20, 1910, in Withrow, the son of Robert and Flora (Horton) Humphrey. He moved with his family to Cheney and later to Kendrick, Idaho, where he attended school. He later lived in Pateros, Grand Coulee and the Seattle area. Mr. Humphrey was a civilian employee with the U.S. Navy during World War II at Keyport, near Bremerton. He moved to Wenatchee after the war, where he operated a machine shop. He moved to China Lake, Calif., after selling the business and worked as a civilian employee with the U.S. Navy. Mr. Humphrey moved to Coulee Dam, where he was employed by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation as a machinist until his retirement in 1973. He and his first wife, Mildred, moved to Brewster in 1977. She preceded him in death in 1980. He married Stella Carter on Feb. 6, 1981, in Reno, Nev. Mr. Humphrey was a member of Chelan Eagles Lodge No. 2218 and was a private pilot. Survivors include his wife, at the home; a stepson, Ivan Carter, McKinleyville, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Barbara Carlson, Ferndale, Calif.; one brother, Arnie, Grand Coulee; a sister, Myrtle Moody, Grand Coulee; and six grandchildren. He also was preceded in deatrh by two brothers and two sisters. Arrangements are by Barnes Chapel, Brewster. References
