  PATEROS- Roy E. Humphrey, 71, Pateros, died Thursday in a Spokane hospital.
  He was born Jan. 26, 1909, in Adrian.
  Mr. Humphrey was a member of the Pateros Grange and the Civil Air Patrol. He worked as a mechanic with Goehry Garage and at the Gamble Lumber Company in Brewster. He also worked for the Pateros School District until his retirement. Mr. Humphrey was a pilot for 34 years.
  Survivors include one son, Russell E., Spokane; three daughters, Mary E. Ross of Sweet Home, Ore., Judith L. MacDougal of Newport, and Barbara A. Mandarino of Spokane; three brothers, Russell E. of Spokane, Arnold of Grand Coulee, and Wilmot of Brewster; three sisters, Violet Acord of Prineville, Ore., Myrtle Moody of Omak, and Lucille Grigsby of Spokane; 25 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
  Thornhill Valley Funeral Home, Spokane, is in charge of arrangements.
