1872 - Baptism: William Wharton WOMACK, son of William John WOMACK, coach builder, and Sophia, of Kenninghall. He was baptised at the same time as his sister Rosa, a cousin, 3 aunts and an uncle. Another uncle, Rev Joseph HUGHES, Rector of Chellaston, Derbyshire, performed the ceremony. Joseph's wife Ellen (née WOMACK) had died just a few months previously. William's age was given as 18 months. 1881 - With parents on the Green, North Lopham. Scholar, aged 10. 1891 - Living with parents at the Kings Head Inn, North Lopham. Employed as a wheelwright. 1901 - Thought to be the "William WOMACH, 30, b. Kenninghall, coach body maker" in Willesden, Middlesex. Also there are Harry (23) and Araminta (26). 1908 - Listed in Kelly's Norfolk Directory as licensee of King's Head Inn, North Lopham and wheelwright. 1916 - Listed in Kelly's Norfolk Directory as licensee of King's Head Inn, North Lopham and wheelwright. 1930 - Made the oak large double and kissing gates given to North Lopham village in memory of Zaida BEALES, which were designed by her son Percy, with wrought iron work by craftsmen from Wretham. 1937 - Listed in Kelly's Norfolk Directory as a wheelwright in North Lopham, but no longer listed as licensee. 1944 - Death registered in Wayland, December quarter, aged 73. 1945 - Info from probate calendar: Living at Fern Villa, North Lopham when he died, admin. granted 23 March 1945 to Florence Kate WOMACK, widow. |
