Facts and Events
William Veysey's origins have yet to be established. His first confirmed sighting is on 25th February 1747, when he was married at Thelbridge in Devon to Joan Crook. They appear to have had four children together between 1747 and 1754, three of whom were baptised at Witheridge and one at Rackenford, although all these baptisms describe the family as living in Thelbridge, with one specifying the hamlet of Buddleswick. William has yet to be traced after the baptism of his fourth child in 1754; there are at least three burials of people called William Veysey at Rackenford between 1769 and 1802, any of which could be him. |
