    'In the 1810 census he had five boys and two girls, but no female was listed in the age range of his wife. It is not known whether William lost a wife during this period.'

    'The three boys who were under 20 years of age and living in the William Spruill household in 1830 are thought to be sons of William and were probably the John, William and Gabriel Spruill who were married in Fayette County, Georgia in the 1830's.'

    p. 10: 'William Spruill of Abbeville, died in DeKalb County, Georgia without leaving a will. His estate was administered by grandson, Wilson E. Spruill. The appraisement was made on 7 March 1846 ...'
