Obituary

William Merle Sherer, 57, of 466 S. Central died Sunday at his residence.

Born Feb. 1, 1918, in Spencerville, he was the son of Henry Franklin and Elenora Hance Sherer. He was retired from the Nickel Plate Railroad, was a member of South Side Church of Christ and a Navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Thelma Spencer Sherer; three sons, Ronald Allen of 2055 Idlewild Dr., Gail Franklin of 1012 S. Scott and William Merle II at home; two daughters, Nola Mae Henry of 518 S. Central and Jennie Lee Scarberry of 587 S. Pine; a brother, James of 2087 Fetter Rd.; five sisters, Mrs. Arnold (Alice) Stirn of 502 King, Mrs. Arnold (Bernice) Trempert of 590 Lutz Rd., Mrs. Clara Hughes of 613 W. Spring, Mrs. Robert (Bonnie) Dukro of 406 Atlantic and Mrs. David (Norma) Howell of Amarillo, Tex.; 21 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Siferd Westwood Chapel, Rev. E. J. Penhorwood officiating, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
