William and family moved from Clinton County, Indiana to the vicinity of Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana sometime before March 1863 and remained there until about the fall of 1869, when they moved to Putnam County, Missouri.[16]

[and] represent that he is informed and charges that . . . that William Reese one of the heirs of said deceased did receive by way of advancement in the lifetime of said deceased the like sum of three hundred dollars, your Petitioner therefore . . . prays that . . . said William Reese be required to answer under his corporal oath fully and completely all and singular the matters and things herein charged against him, Your petitioner further represents that said Joseph Reese died leaving the following children his heirs at law him surviving To wit William Reese, . . .
