OBITUARY
Wm. Oswald was born in Montgomery County, Ohio April 21, 1826. At the age of 7 he, with his parents, moved to Dark County, Ohio, at which place he resided until 1866.
He was married April 14, 1850 to Ama Harter. To this union were born 7 children, 2 boys and 5 girls. Death has claimed one of these boys and two of the girls. He united with the Brethern Church in the spring of 1866 of which he has been a member for over 42 years.
After several months illness he quietly passed away Tuesday evening at 5:40, August 11, 1908, in the presence of all his children and 5 of the grandchildren at the good old age of 82 years, 3 months and 20 days.
He moved to Douglas County, Illinois, in 1866 and removed to Wayne County in 1899. He leaves a wife, one son, three daughters, 26 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn his departure. He was always jovial and loving in his disposition.
On Wednesday at 2 p.m. the funeral was conducted at the Martin Creek Church by Eld. J. W. Harshbarger. Tex II Timothy 4: 7-8, a large concourse of friends being present, after which the remains were laid to rest in the adjoining burying ground to await the resurrection morning. J. J. S.
