Ama Harter Oswald passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.A. Teeter, after an illness of one week.
Mrs. Oswald was born in Darke County, Ohio, October 12, 1826, and at the time of her death was almost 84 years of age.
She was married April 14, 1850 to William Oswald, and to them were born seven children, two sons and five daughters. Her husband, one son and two daughters preceded her in death. The family came to Douglas County, Illinois in 1866, and in 1899 removed to Wayne county. Since the death of the husband and father in 1908, Mrs Oswald has made her home with her children. She became a member of the United Brethren Church in 1866, her connection with that society covering a period of 44 years.
She was possessed of a loving and cheery disposition, which endeared her to those with whom she was asociated.
Her children and grand-children were with her when the end came and she fell peacefully asleep.
Among her immediate relatives she is survived by three daughters, one son, 26 grand children and five great-grandchildren.
The body was taken this morning to Fairfield where funeral services wer held in the church adjoining the Martin Creek Cemetery, where the interment was made.
