Research Notes

  • Be careful! The information of this William Morgan is often confused with other William Morgans of the time.
  • Note: Appleton Morgan 1 does not specify a spouse nor a death date, but he mentions a Will - where is it?
    • Also, there is something fishy about Appleton Morgan's dates for this family. Based on the activities of all of the children, except for James Morgan who supposedly emigrated to America, the father's birthdate is more likely to be a century later than written, i.e. 1671 vs. 1571. For example, his supposed son, William Morgan, Fellow at Magdalen College, is well documented to be living in the early 1800s. So this raises the question of whether the emigrant son James is really of this family or not? More research is needed. --Cos1776 01:41, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
