Eglwysilan is now an ecclesiastical parish and hamlet in Wales, within the community of Aber Valley in the unitary authority of Caerphilly County Borough.

Wikipedia has a section entitled "History of the Parish" which outlines the links between Eglwysilan and the immediate area around it during the last millenium.
