    WM. LEATHERS PASSED AWAY

    William S. Leathers 69, passed away yesterday aftetrnoon [sic] at 4:15 at his home, 503 E. Lowe street. He had become suddenly ill during the afternoon.

    He was born January 10, 1875 in Keokuk county, Iowa, and had been a resident of this city for the past 55 years.

    He is survived by his wife; one son, Glenn, and one daughter, Mrs. Alvin Ecklund, both of Fairfield; a brother, Ben Leathers, Fairfield; a sisters, Mrs. Margaret Gaines, Beverly Hills, Calif.; and 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son and one daughter who passed away in infancy.

    The body was taken to the Hoskins funeral home.

    Funeral services will be held Monday, May 1 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Methodist church. The body will be taken from the funeral home to the residence this evening, and from there to the church at 2:00 on Monday. Interment in the Evergreen cemetery.
