Grace Leathers Taken In Death
Mrs. Grace Ellen Leathers, 81, lifetime resident of Fairfield, died Friday at 3 p.m. at the Nelson nursing home. She had been in failing health for five years.
Last rites will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral home with the Rev. J. Roland Crandall presiding. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. Leathers was born in Fairfield April 9, 1880, the daughter of George and Philinda Nott Reed. She was reared and educated in this community. She was married to William S. Leathers Aug. 26, 1896. He preceded her in death April 28, 1944.
Mrs. Leathers was a member of the Methodist church. She is survived by two children, Glenn Leathers, Sr., Fairfield, and Mrs. Alvin Eklund, Libertyville. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Frank Simmons Sr., Fairfield.
