William Edmondson Jones[1][2] was known as Brigadier General W.E. "Grumble" Jones, he was killed June 5, 1864 he was acknowledged as a competent general. He and Jeb Stuart didn't get along. Jeb had two stars and was Grumble's supervisor, even though Jeb was nine years younger than Grumble. Grumble called Jeb a 'young whippersnapper". There is suppose to be a monument to him a historic highway marker at the church where he is buried in Washington Co. Va.
