Disambiguaton

Sometimes (and in the AF) conflated with William Johnson of Woburn. That man is documented through his father William's 1704 will as marrying Esther Gardner and died in Woburn in 1730. The 26 Feb 1656 birthdate floating around is for this William. For details on this family, see NEHGR 59:80. The Andover couple had at least 7 children before Sarah died in 1706.

I've seen reference that "Records of the Descendants of John Johnson" by Rev. William W. Johnson says the family came from Herne Hill, Kent, settled in Ipswich by 1635. In Andover by 1657.
