William Thomas Jenkins and his sister Sarah Ellen Jenkins were twins. Sarah died just 15 days after birth.

!BIRTH: There is some question about whether their birth year was 1851 or 1852. 

 The earlier year is from the census.  The later year is from family records submitted by his descendants.  No birth certificates were available at that time.

Kanesville was a small unincorporated town and Council Bluffs was the post office. Some children list one as their birthplace and some list the other. There were no birth certificates or records made then.

William Thomas Jenkins was around 5' tall and had dark, wavy hair that never went grey, and blue-grey eyes. He could play the violin and played for dances.
