A silversmith, William Jr. probably learned the business from his father William, Sr. His shop was on Ann St. opposite the Golden Key. Ads with that address ran in the Boston Gazette through 1813.

    No such death date (19 Feb 1825) is found in this source. Find A Grave says 12 Feb 1825, but has no picture. The memoir of Mrs. Sarah Tappan, p. 123, says he died 13 Jan 1825. No death record supporting any of these dates or any other has been found.

    William and Rebecca Homes had fifteen children...
    William Homes, Jun. was born May 7th, 1742, in Ann-street, in the house nearly opposite the one in which he died, on Lord's day, 13th January, 1825, aged eighty three. He worked at the goldsmith business to his last sickness. He was an exemplary Christian, and his honesty was proverbial.
