Robert Homes, son of William Jr. and Elizabeth (Whitwell) Homes of Boston was baptized at the Old South Church, Boston, 9 Aug 1767, and died in Boston 18 June 1804 at the age of 36. The Boston Directory of 1796 lists Robert Homes, brass founder, 33 Union St.

According to "The Crafts Family", Robert married Percis Crafts Doane in Boston on 14 Jan 1801. After his death in 1804, administration upon his estate was granted to his widow Percis, 13 Aug 1804. He died intestate. Robert's brother, William Homes, gentleman, and William Crafts, merchant, both of Boston, went on the bond of administration. The inventory of the estate of Robert Homes was taken 17 Sep 1804, and amounted to $17,818.58. It included house and land in Sudbury St., Boston, valued at S4,500 ; house and land in Union St., Boston, valued at $9,000 ; stock in trade $3,393.58; pianoforte §600; other household furniture $384.50. On 6 Jun 1823, Percis Homes, widow; William C. Homes, merchant (her eldest son), both of Boston; and William Crafts of Charleston, S. C. (her nephew), signed a bond in §10,000, to sell the buildings and real estate on Union St. in the best interest of the heirs. On 10 Jul 1823, the two undivided thirds of the land and tenement on Union St., numbered 33, were sold at public auction, bounding west on Union St., to Nath'l Amory, "for the benefit of the heirs, Caroline C. and Henry Homes, minors, subject to their mother's claim for dower."
