William Hawtree was baptised on 18th April 1802 at Pinner in Middlesex, son of Elizabeth Hawtree, formerly Marshall, and her husband Thomas Hawtree, an agricultural labourer. By 1811, the family had moved to Edmonton, where they lived at Palmers Green. William appears to have died as a young man of 37, being buried at Edmonton on 20th October 1839.
