    WILLIAM HAWK
    14 July 1911 Athens Messenger
William Hawk dies at home in Kansas; Former resident of Lower Plains will be buried at Union. Word has been received here of the sudden death of William Hawk aged ?? late Wednesday night, at his home in Bluff City, Kansas. His death was very unexpected.
Mr. Hawk was born and raised about a mile and a half west of Athens, near Factory Church, living at that place for almost 70 years. For years he was known as one of the best stone mason and workmen in this part of the county and had a wide acquaintance. While living near this city, Mr. Hawk was married and reared a family of seven sons and one daughter. Two sons preceded their father in death and their mother passed away about 11 years ago.
About ten years ago, Mr. Hawk went to Kansas to make his home and later married there. His second wife survives. Two sons, George, of Union and John of The Plains, live near this city, and the other three sons live in Kansas. His daughter Mrs. H.F. McCoy of Kansas is now visiting near this city. Mrs. McCoy brought the remains of her husband Dr. H.F. McCoy to Athens for burial about a year ago.
Mr. Hawk will be buried at Union and the funeral party is expected to arrive here Saturday night on the late train. His son, Dr. B.F. Hawk is accompanying the remains of his father to Ohio. If the present plan does not miscarry, the funeral and burial will be held at Union burying ground near this city Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock.

William Hawk dies at home in Kansas, he will be buriedat Union Cem Athens Co, Ohio. He was a long time resident of Athens near Factory Church.
